Manchester Maccabi Community and Sports Club (11 Photos)
As part of the International Maccabi Movement we work closely with Maccabi GB as an affiliate but we are an independent charity.

Manchester Maccabi's principal mission is to support and assist the development of its community and sections by:-

1. encouraging and promoting equal and active participation by both sexes in educational, sporting and cultural activities.

2. encouraging the sense of fair play and team spirit within individuals and groups.

There has been a Maccabi in Manchester since the end of the Second World War. The present Manchester Maccabi arose out of the Jewish Lads Brigade club in the late 50's and early 60's becoming WJLB, then Maxims WJLB and finally adopting the Manchester Maccabi name in the late 70's after the demise of the original club and members.

Manchester Maccabi offers a wide range of activities for its membership which are competitive and developmental.

Our sections include Basketball, Cricket, Football, Krav Maga, Netball, Rounders, Rugby and Table Tennis which encompass all ages and the diverse strands of Judaism.

Manchester Maccabi supports participation of its members in their aspirations to represent Maccabi GB in the Maccabiah, the European Games and the North American Youth Games.

Manchester Maccabi is embarking on its most exciting project yet, the funding of its own community building at Brooklands. It will include fully equipped sports facilities and cater for the educational, spiritual and cultural needs of Manchester's Jewish Community.
